Ticket Cancellation for Non-Residents

Please note that tickets purchased by non-residents of Fiji will be subject to cancellation. The pricing displayed on this website is exclusively available for residents of Fiji. Any tickets purchased by individuals outside of Fiji may be automatically voided without prior notice.

ATTENTION: BEAST MANDATORY ITEM

To all Spartan Beast Racers: Carrying a 1L hydration system is mandatory for this race.

HH MANDATORY GEAR LIST

  • Location: Aviva Racecourse, Wailoko Rd, Sabeto, Fiji 

    Hurricane Heat Race Registration & Check In Time: 6:00 AM, Friday 15th November, 2024

    Hurricane Heat Start Time: 7:00 AM, Friday 15th November, 2024.

  • - Recommended 3x litres of water, in a hydration bladder or bottles

    - Salt/electrolyte packets, amount sufficient for the duration of the event

    - Nutrition/Food/Calories, amount sufficient for the duration of the event

  • - All athletes must wear a black top without logos (Spartan logos are acceptable, or other small logos are ok)

    - 1 sturdy ruck/backpack to carry all gear items

    - Dark coloured buff / neck tube

    - Gloves if necessary 

    - 1x Black Sharpie Marker & 1x Red Marker

    - 1x Multi-tool with Knife

    - 1x Roll of duct tape

    - 15m of paracord 550

  • - Non digital compass

    - Roll of Glad Wrap

    - 1.25L Plastic Coke Bottle

ULTRA MANDATORY GEAR LIST

A Mandatory Gear Check is performed by Course Officials before jumping into the Start Corral & before leaving the Transition Area on the second loop.

All the mandatory equipment must be carried with you while you are on course.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY OF THE ITEMS BELOW, YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START/CONTINUE.

  • Location: Aviva Racecourse, Waimalika Rd, Sabeto, Fiji.

    Ultra Race Start Time: 6:00 AM, Saturday 16th November, 2024

    • Festival and registration opens at 5:00 AM.

    Packet Pick Up: Ultra-racers can pick up their Race Packet onsite on the morning of the race, or on Friday November 15th, 2024 at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort between 2:30pm-4pm.

    Mandatory Ultra Briefing: 

    • There will be a mandatory Ultra Briefing at the Hilton Fiji Beach Resort on Friday November 15, 2024 at 4:00PM.

    • This will also be an opportunity to ask our staff any final questions before undertaking the Spartan Ultra!

    Gear Drop Off: Racers may drop their Gear Bins only from: Saturday 16th November between 05:00 AM to 05:45 AM. 

    • Only 1 container per racer will be allowed, and the bin may be no larger than 36 (L) x 21 (W) x 24 (H) inches - (28L). Drop box is NOT mandatory.

    • You will only be able to access your gear in the transition lap, and then again after you finish. Each lap must be completed with everything you take out of the gear drop area including trash.

    • Please note that Gear Bins are NOT provided. Racers are required to bring their own.

  • Please arrive at the Start Corral in no less than 15 minutes before your heat time for Gear Check & Briefing. 

    Saturday, 16th November, 2024: 
    1. On the day ‘Packet Pickup’ - 05:00 AM (at the Registration Area)
    2. On the day ‘Gear Drop Off’ - 05:00 AM to 05:45 AM (at the Transition Area)
    3. Ultra: Start Time – 06:00 AM (Headlamps will be on until 7:00AM)
    4. Sunrise - 06:22 AM
    5. ULTRA Loop 1 - 8KM + 21KM
    6. 1st Loop Cut-Off (racers must exit Transition Area at this time) - 1:00PM (1300hrs) 29km
    9.Sunset - 06:19PM (1819hrs) 
    10.Final Course Cut-Off - 08:00 PM (2000hrs)

    • 50km Racers MUST reach the Finish Line on or before the final course cut-off time. All racers still on course at this time will be pulled off course and issued a DNF.

  • 1 backpack, running vest, or other device capable of carrying all mandatory equipment. 

    • 1 hydration system with the ability to carry a minimum of 30 OZ (1 Litre) of fluid in any type of container. Please note that it must be pre-filled upon arrival on race day. 

  • - 1 survival blanket or bivvy. 

    - 1 emergency whistle.

    - 1 flashlight or headlamp with 1 set of backup batteries, or for rechargeable battery pack capable of fully charging the device. You MUST be wearing your headlamp to start. 

    NOTE: Power for recharging will NOT be provided in the Transition Zone or on course. 

    - 1 Red flashing light / red blinker (waterproof/water resistant recommended), to be ALWAYS attached to the back of the pack/vest or headlamp strap and be turned ON WHEN DARK, and when instructed to do so by race staff.

  • - Ziploc or dry bag/s to keep your things dry if/when you go in/under water.

    - Appropriate amount of food/fuel depending on your needs. Fiji will be hot and humid so prepare accordingly.

    - Change of shoes/socks for second loop.

    - Change/s of clothing and/ or wind breaker in case of wet weather.

  • Water Stations: 


    At each stop, you will be allowed to drink as much water as you want. There will be water stations on course, there will be water in the Transition zone Area with a toilet. 

     

    Cut-Off Times: 

    Cut-Off times are set for your safety and will be strictly enforced. You must be leaving (not arriving) to a cut-off point before or exactly at the time stated. All cut-off times may be digressed by the Race Director in view of safety. There will be NO discourse with the Race Director about specific cut-off times. Failure to respect cut-off times will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the course. 

ULTRA RACE RULES

1. Unless otherwise specified, Ultra events follow the official 2024 Spartan Rulebook, without modifications to obstacle completion requirements or penalties. 


2. Ultra racers MUST wear their pinney over their clothing at all times. 


3. The first 10 Male and first 10 Female competitors out of the Transition Area will be given an official lap leader pinney. This must be worn over or in place of the Ultra pinney. 


4. All Ultra competitors are required to wear their headbands, regardless of the use of headlamps or headwear. 


5. Shoes with spikes are not allowed.


6. Aid devices of any kind (harnesses, trekking poles, etc.) are NOT allowed. 


7. Support crew and outside assistance are not permitted anywhere on the course or in the Transition Area. 


8. Any racers remaining on course at after the cut-off time will be removed from the course for their own safety and will be considered as DNF. (Did not finish) 


9. Race Staff reserves the rights to alter and/or change the cut off times without prior notice due to safety and/or weather concerns.

 
10. For your own safety, you are always required to comply with all the instructions given by Race Staff. Failure to adhere to this will result in your immediate disqualification. 


11. The completion of 1 of the 2 loops is considered a DNF and does not qualify you for the Beast Finisher Medal and ranking. 


12. All Ultra participants must be at least 18 years old or older to race.


13. Competitors must wear the assigned timing chip during the race. 


14. Once a Competitor crosses the finish line, their timing chip will be removed. Once the chip is removed, Competitors are not allowed to continue. 


15. It is the sole responsibility of each Competitor to ensure their timing chip is secure and worn at all times. 


16. It is the sole responsibility of each Competitor to notify a race official if a timing chip is lost or malfunctions at any time. 


17. Competitors are not allowed to pre-run/ walk the course or engage with obstacles unless prior approval has been granted by Spartan. 


18. Please note you cannot help one another or race pace as an Elite or Age Group Racer. Pacing is defined as running with or near a competitor, in between obstacles, with the intent of assisting the competitor by giving instruction, coaching, or to set a pace.
